What would you do if someone told you that you would find a large Lingum in Brindhaven. We found that special place at the 6th Rudram 11 organised by Vedas4all in KZN.
Chanters and keen listeners converged to Sivan Sabay, located at the highest point in Brindhaven, Verulam, to recite the Sri Rudram 11 times in front of an approximately one metre Lingam.
The Sivan Sabay pays homage to Lord Shiva in three prominent forms: Nataraja, the cosmic dancer; a meditative pose, symbolizing His role as a Yogi; and the Lingam, an aniconic representation of His divine energy.
Nataraja embodies the cosmic dance of creation and dissolution, while the meditative posture highlights His role as a source of wisdom and inner peace. The Lingam represents the generative power and formless aspect of Lord Shiva.
As you enter the temple, a picture of Lord Shiva in the fierce form greets you, which was quite appropriate for the spiritual occasion of reciting the Rudram in unison.
The showers of blessings did not dampen the energy, and the vibrations created by the chanters were once again powerful.
After the chanting ended, it has become customary for the entire congregation to sit in silence to allow the spiritual vibrations to settle so that it may be taken away by attendees to their respective locations in the province.
Another beautiful Rudram 11 was completed as we continue our journey of chanting together for the country and the world.
