An Ati Rudra Maha Yajna is a 9 day event entailing homa (offering into sacred fire) and eka dasa (11 times) rudram chanting by at least 121-individuals + 12 priests. In addition to chanting Rudra ekadasini (11x rudram), at least 121 Ritwiks along with 11 priests will offer 1 cycle of Rudram as homam at 11-homa kundas (sacred fire pits) every day for all 9-days. Japa (chanting), Homa (offering into sacred fire), Abhishekam (offering of holy liquids) completes the Ati Rudra Maha Yajna.

 

This ARMY which will take place in South Africa will result in these powerful mantras being chanted a total of 14,641 times by 190 trained chanters over 9 days.

The energy of Mount Kailasha, the omnipresence of Lord Shiva, the vibration of the Vedas will be felt and experienced through the Ati Rudram Maha Yajna taking place for the very first time on African soil. It is truly a once in a lifetimes opportunity! Our souls have pined for participating in such a prayer over several births. 

 

Roadmap to ARMY Africa 2024 

Should you wish to be a Ritwik Chanter for the full 9 days.

1. March 2023: Training begins to become well versed in the Rudram Namakam, Chamakam, Purusha Suktam, Durga Suktam and a few other other mantras.

2. August 2023: Sri Rudram Workshop. Brother Shekhar Boddupali from the USA 🇺🇸 shall visit Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg and conduct training workshops with all the chanters to ensure the quality is par and share the in depth meaning of the Sri Rudram. 3. September 2023: Registration opens

4. October 2023: Registration Closes

5. November 2023: Finalisation of Ritwiks

6.  December 2023: 121 Day Sadhana to commence for  121 days, leading up to the ARMY event.

7.  April 2024: Ritwiks to arrive on 14 April 2024 in Durban and the prayer to commence on 15 April 2024.
