The first Rudram 11, in KZN organised by vedas4all, was held on 18 January 2025. This was a truly profound experience for all who attended.
The beautiful ambiance of the Ahobilam Temple of Protection at the River Range Ranch, perched at the top of the hill, made for a truly beautiful setting as we journeyed up the hill to the temple. In a society where many people seek security and protection from evil and lawlessness, the Ahobilam Temple of Protection, was founded to look like a cave.
Sri Rudram is divided into 11 sections called Anuvakas. The first Anuvaka of Namakam is chanted to destroy all sins, obtain leadership and divine benevolence, protection from famine, freedom from fear, obtain food, and protect cows, for absence from untimely fear of death, of tigers, thieves, from monsters, devils, demons. It is also chanted as a shield (Kavacha) for virulent fever, to cure diseases, fetal disorders, absolution from evils stars and bad karma, for the fulfillment of one's desires, sumptuous rainfall, family protection, blessings with good children, fulfillment of all material desires and the destruction of enemies.

My Salutions to you who protects with His unstrung bow, My salutations to you who is the protector of the fields.

The highlight of the day was definitely the powerful chanting of the opening prayers, Rudram, Durga Suktam and universal closing prayers. This created an energy and vibration, so powerful, that all could feel the Divine presence.
"The family Togetherness was felt by all. Just listening to the powerful collective chant, a great spiritual symphony, felt like a treasure of energy has consumed us." - attendee at the event.

"The Vedas are a gift of God for the welfare of the entire humanity. The Vedas make no distinction on the basis of religion, caste or nationality. The Veda mantras can be chanted by one and all. It is Swami’s wish that the Vedas spread to every country so that every human being irrespective of religion, caste or nationality learn and chant them.”
